”Lo boi” (the cowshed) apartment used to house the cows, calves and a handful of sheep and goats. Being the warmest part of the house, this was used as the living area in winter. Villagers would frequently gather here to spend the evening together playing cards, recounting daily events or knitting in front of a crackling hearth. In local dialect these occasions were known as “veillà”.
